Ocean Park Inn

A microcosm of elite beachside dwellers, college students and beatnik artist give Pacific Beach its edge. The Ocean Park Inn a second generation, family-owned hotel has seen life originally as a Tiki Hotel and then rebuilt as a Mediterranean styled building at the end of Grand Avenue, directly on the strand fronting the beach. If you drive past it you’re in the Pacific Ocean.  Our thought process was simple, in comparing the other venues we discovered that all the hotels in the Comp Set use blue in their design, so we asked “What if we designed an entire beach hotel not using one drop of blue”? The guestrooms feature a blend of mid-century inspired furnishings, exterior painted v-grooved paneling, ultra wide-plank flooring and nods to the Tiki vibe it once had. OPI is elegantly eclectic just like its location.
